COACHE Survey
One of the highest priorities of the Provost is to foster a workplace where faculty feel supported and valued for their contributions to the University and the success of our students. It is important to continuously strive to do more to support our community. To that end, in 2019, Baylor was one of 250 institutions to join the Collaborative on Academic Careers in Higher Education (COACHE), based at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. COACHE administered a survey of job satisfaction to Baylor faculty in early 2020 (Feb. 3 – Apr. 10).
In this effort, surveys were sent to all full-time faculty members – tenured, tenure-track, non-tenure-track – and responses were received from 63% of eligible faculty. Baylor’s response rate was higher than our peer institutions by approximately 21.8%.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to respond. We recognize that time is a precious resource, and are committed to making your contribution to this effort worth every minute you invested.
Later this fall, COACHE will send to us a comprehensive report of the findings, including results at peer institutions and among a cohort of similar institutions. Based on these findings, the academic community will work together to implement improvements that shape Baylor’s future.
